      Fate Criminal Defense Lawyers

Fate is the fastest-growing city in Rockwall County, with a population that has exploded from under 1,000 in 2000 to over 22,000 today. This explosive growth along the I-30 corridor east of Rockwall has brought new residential developments, commercial districts, and an expanding law enforcement presence. The Fate Police Department and Texas DPS conduct regular patrols on I-30 and the FM 551/FM 552 corridors. Every criminal and DWI case arising from Fate is prosecuted by the Rockwall County District Attorney’s office and heard at the Rockwall County Courthouse.

Deandra Grant Law’s Rockwall office is at 1101 Ridge Road, Suite 201 which is conveniently located for access to the Rockwall County Courthouse at 1111 E Yellow Jacket Lane, Rockwall, TX 75087.

Managing Partner Deandra Grant holds a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Science, a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Toxicology, and the ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist designation. Partner Douglas Huff holds the same ACS-CHAL designation and has completed advanced digital forensics training. For federal matters in the Northern District of Texas, Of Counsel James Lee Bright brings more than 25 years of federal trial experience in both the Northern District of Texas (Dallas Division) and the Eastern District of Texas (Sherman Division).

Know What You’re Facing: Rockwall County Prosecution

Rockwall County District Attorney Kenda Culpepper runs one of the most aggressive and well-resourced DA’s offices in North Texas. She was named one of the Five Best Prosecutors in America by the Manhattan Institute. Her office includes 22 prosecutors with dedicated divisions for family violence, child abuse, and white-collar crime. When you face prosecution by this office, you need a defense team with the credentials and preparation to match. That starts with forensic science expertise, mitigation capability, and trial depth.

Why the Science Behind Your Case Matters

Most defense attorneys challenge DWI and criminal evidence through legal argument. Deandra Grant Law challenges it through the science. No other Rockwall County defense attorney holds the ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist designation.

      • Blood testing: Rockwall County DWI blood draws are typically sent to the Texas DPS Crime Lab in Tyler. GC-FID methodology, in vitro fermentation, sodium fluoride adequacy, chain of custody, analyst qualifications — challenged at the level of the chemistry.
      • Drug cases: Drug analysis routed to appropriate forensic labs. Presence is not impairment.
      • Breath testing: Intoxilyzer 9000. Partition ratio variability (1,100:1 to 3,400:1), 15-minute observation period compliance, calibration records, mouth alcohol, GERD/diabetes effects.
      • Field sobriety tests: Deandra Grant is a trained SFST instructor who administers and grades the ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist and DUIDLA Board Certification exams. SFST cross-examination goes to the protocol, not just the result.
      • Digital evidence: Cell phone data, social media, CDR records, surveillance footage
      • Retrograde extrapolation: Rising BAC defense, Widmark formula, individual elimination rate variability
