What These Honors Mean
The recognitions below share one thing in common: they are awarded by peers, independent panels, and scientific bodies, not purchased. Here’s what each one represents.
Martindale-Hubbell — AV Preeminent
The AV Preeminent rating is the highest distinction in the Martindale-Hubbell peer-review system, reflecting top marks from fellow attorneys and judges for legal ability and ethical standards. Deandra Grant holds the AV Preeminent rating, earned across more than three decades of practice, and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.
Best Lawyers in America
Best Lawyers is one of the oldest and most respected peer-review guides in the profession. Recognition is earned entirely through confidential evaluations by other attorneys in the same practice area and region; lawyers cannot pay to be listed. Deandra Grant was named to Best Lawyers in America in 2026.
Texas Super Lawyers
Super Lawyers recognizes attorneys with a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement, selected through peer nominations, independent research, and evaluation. No more than five percent of attorneys in the state are chosen each year. Deandra Grant has been selected to the Texas Super Lawyers list every year since 2011.
ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist
Awarded by the American Chemical Society’s Chemistry and the Law Division, this designation requires graduate-level forensic science coursework and a demonstrated ability to evaluate scientific evidence at the level of a working forensic scientist. It cannot be bought, voted on, or nominated for; it must be earned through examination. Deandra Grant was the first attorney in Texas to earn it, and Partner Douglas Huff holds the same designation, making Deandra Grant Law the only firm in the state with two Forensic Lawyer-Scientists.
National Trial Lawyers — Top 100
The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 is an invitation-only recognition extended to a limited number of trial attorneys in each state who have demonstrated superior qualifications, results, and leadership. Deandra Grant has been named to the Top 100 every year since 2013.
D Magazine — Best Lawyers in Dallas
Each year D Magazine publishes its Best Lawyers in Dallas list, compiled through peer balloting across the Dallas legal community and reviewed by an advisory panel. Deandra Grant has been recognized nearly every year since 2010, including selections to the Best Women Lawyers in Dallas and Top 10 DWI Lawyers in Dallas lists.
NSDAR Women in American History Award
Presented by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, this award honors women whose work has made a lasting contribution to their community and country. It is a civic honor, not a legal industry ranking, which is exactly why it stands out. Deandra Grant received the award in 2026.
DUIDLA — Bad Ass Award
Presented by the DUI Defense Lawyers Association, the Bad Ass Award recognizes attorneys whose courtroom results and fearless advocacy have earned the respect of the national DUI defense bar. It is voted on by the very lawyers who try these cases every day.
President — Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association
The presidency of the DCDLA is decided by a vote of the Dallas criminal defense bar itself. Deandra Grant was elected President for 2022 after serving as President-elect, Treasurer, and more than a decade on the Board of Directors, a track record of trust from the attorneys who know her work best.
Executive Director & President-Emeritus — DUIDLA
DUIDLA is the national professional organization for DUI defense attorneys. Deandra Grant is a charter member, served as its President, and now leads the organization as Executive Director, helping set the standard for how impaired driving cases are defended across the country.
President’s Award — Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Assn.
The President’s Award is given by the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association to members whose service to the defense bar goes beyond their own caseload. Deandra Grant received it three years running, in 2012, 2013, and 2014, recognition from the statewide organization that represents Texas criminal defense attorneys.
Exceptional Service Award — Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Assn.
Awarded by the Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association in 2014, the Exceptional Service Award recognizes sustained contribution to the Dallas defense bar. It came years before the same membership elected Deandra Grant its President, an early marker of the trust her colleagues place in her.
Top Advocate Award — Collin County Criminal Defense Lawyers Assn.
The Top Advocate Award is presented by the Collin County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association to an attorney whose courtroom advocacy stands out among the county’s defense bar. Deandra Grant received it in 2012, recognition from the lawyers who try cases alongside her in the same courthouses.
AVVO 10.0 & Justia 10.0 Ratings
AVVO and Justia independently rate attorneys based on experience, professional conduct, peer endorsements, and industry recognition. A 10.0 is the highest score either platform awards. Deandra Grant holds a perfect 10.0 rating on both.
Texas’ Top Rated Lawyers
Texas’ Top Rated Lawyers, published by ALM in partnership with Martindale-Hubbell, recognizes attorneys who have earned the highest peer-review ratings in their field. Deandra Grant has been named to the list repeatedly since 2013.

Fort Worth Magazine’s Top Attorneys list is compiled through peer voting among Tarrant County area lawyers. Deandra Grant was recognized as a Top Lawyer in 2020, a recognition that reflects her standing in the Fort Worth legal community the firm serves from its Airport Freeway office.
Modern Luxury — Dallas Power Players & Dynamic Women
Modern Luxury’s annual features profile the people shaping Dallas business and civic life. Deandra Grant has been named a Dallas Power Player every selection year from 2020 through 2025 and one of the magazine’s Dynamic Women from 2022 through 2025, recognition that her influence extends beyond the courtroom into the broader Dallas community.

Living Well Magazine’s Top Lawyers feature highlights attorneys recognized by readers and peers across the Dallas area. Deandra Grant was named to the list four consecutive years, 2021 through 2024.

Attorney at Law Magazine profiles standout lawyers and firms for its legal readership. Deandra Grant was featured as Attorney of the Month in December 2020, and the firm itself was named Boutique Law Firm of the Month in 2014, recognition for both the lawyer and the practice she built.
