Attorney Deandra M. Grant Featured in Living Well Magazine

The feature notes Deandra’s early career aspiration of becoming a vet. When she got to law school, she became interested in criminal law from her first class in the area. Fueled by this newfound passion, she applied her strengths and earned the highest grade in the class.

She interned in the district attorney’s office and later served as an assistant district attorney, but realized that defense was where she wanted to be.

The article also discusses Deandra’s breadth of knowledge in DWI science and trial. She became so well-versed in DWI chemical and field sobriety tests that attorneys started approaching her for insight. She was invited to speak about DWI defense in seminars across the nation. In 2011, she and Attorney Kimberly Griffin spent three years updating the Texas DWI Manual. This is the text defense lawyers refer to. Later, she earned her Master’s in Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Florida’s College of Pharmacy. She also received the American Chemical Society’s Forensic Lawyer-scientist designation.

In 2018, Deandra merged her law firm with Attorney Stephen Hamilton’s. She now manages five of Deandra Grant Law – Criminal & DWI Defense’s nine offices. The firm handles a range of criminal defense matters.

On top of managing the firm, giving DWI defense seminars, and delivering sound legal representation, Deandra still pursues her passion of helping animals and is a VP at Doxie Dream Rescue & Sanctuary.
