Registration is the consequence that outlasts the sentence

Texas ties sex offender registration to the offense of conviction, not to the punishment, so which charge a case resolves to matters more than the number of years attached to it. Some offenses carry lifetime registration, some carry ten years from the date the sentence is discharged, and some resolutions carry none at all. Indecency with a child covers sexual contact with, or exposure in the presence of, anyone under 17, and it is a felony carrying registration whether the allegation is contact or exposure. Online solicitation of a minor is built from chat logs, often from a sting in which no child ever existed, and continuous sexual abuse of a young child carries a 25-year minimum with no parole. Carrollton

Carrollton spans Dallas, Denton, and Collin counties, so the address where the alleged offense happened decides whether the case is heard at Frank Crowley, in Denton, or in McKinney. We appear in all three. The Dallas office is about 25 minutes south on I-35E.

Richardson

Richardson straddles the Dallas and Collin county line. A Richardson case on the Dallas County side is heard at Frank Crowley; north of the line it is prosecuted in McKinney instead. About 20 minutes from our office down US-75.

Highland Park and University Park

The Park Cities run their own police departments, but every case they file is a Dallas County case heard at Frank Crowley. Our Oak Lawn office is less than ten minutes away, which matters when an interview request arrives on short notice.

Garland

Garland is almost entirely Dallas County, with small areas across the Collin and Rockwall lines, so a Garland case is nearly always set at Frank Crowley. About 25 minutes from the office on I-30 or LBJ Freeway.

Mesquite

Mesquite is a Dallas County city with a corner across the Kaufman County line. A Mesquite case goes to Frank Crowley; a Kaufman County case is heard in Kaufman. About 25 minutes east on I-30.

Cedar Hill

Cedar Hill is split between Dallas and Ellis counties. A case on the Dallas County side goes to Frank Crowley, and one on the Ellis County side is heard in Waxahachie, where we also appear. About 30 minutes from the office on US-67.
