Signature

In Texas law, a signature is a set of details so distinctive that it marks separate crimes as the work of one person. Signature looks at cases in which one person was tied to a series of killings, and asks how the State actually made that link: a confession, a lab test, a pattern on a hospital schedule, a strand of DNA. We name the victims, stick to what the courts decided, and treat everything else as a claim. Then we test each link the way a defense lawyer would, and show the Texas law that governs it today.
