All criminal cases in Tarrant County are heard at the Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center in downtown Fort Worth. This facility houses all 11 District Courts with criminal jurisdiction, all 10 County Criminal Courts, the Criminal District Attorney’s Office, and the District Clerk’s Office.

DA Sorrells was elected in 2022 after serving 25 years as the judge of County Criminal Court No. 10. His office is unified which means it handles both felony and misdemeanor prosecution. The office includes specialized units for white collar crime, family violence, child abuse, public integrity, and asset forfeiture. First Assistant DA is Robb Catalano.

The Tarrant County Jail is one of the largest county jails in Texas. After arrest, individuals are booked and held until bond is posted.
