Absolutely. Police officers are trained to look for this and to give you the option to take your shoes off before performing the tests, if you want to.
You see this a lot with women in high heels, with an officer saying something like, “Do you want to take those shoes off?”
But think about the alternative. Sometimes taking your shoes off is not going to help you either.
