Overview

Deandra Grant Law – Waco serves clients across McLennan County and the surrounding communities who are facing DWI, criminal, and federal charges. Our office in the historic Woolworth Office Building at 605 Austin Avenue sits in downtown Waco, near the McLennan County Courthouse on Washington Avenue, where the county’s criminal cases are heard. From the area around Baylor University to the I-35 corridor and downtown, McLennan County sees a steady volume of DWI and criminal cases, so it helps to have a trial-ready defense team that knows these courts and the local process.

The firm’s edge is a science-first approach to the evidence. Managing Partner Deandra Grant is an ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist with a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Science, and our attorneys challenge breath and blood testing at the level of the chemistry rather than relying on legal argument alone. That can change the direction of a Waco DWI case. Use this page for our address, hours, and directions, or call anytime for a free, confidential consultation.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Where will my McLennan County case be heard?

Most McLennan County DWI and criminal cases are heard at the McLennan County Courthouse on Washington Avenue in downtown Waco, a short distance from our Austin Avenue office. Your attorney appears in those courts regularly.

I was arrested for DWI in McLennan County. What is the first thing I should do?

Two clocks start at once. You generally have only 15 days from your arrest to request an ALR hearing to protect your driver’s license, and the criminal case proceeds separately. Call us right away so we can request the hearing on time and start reviewing the evidence before your first court setting.

Do I have to come to the Waco office, or can we meet remotely?

Both work. Many clients prefer an in-person consultation at our Waco office, but we also handle initial consultations by phone or video so you can get advice immediately, even before you are able to come in.

How much does a consultation cost?

Consultations for DWI and criminal matters are free and confidential. You will speak with someone who can explain your charges, the likely process in McLennan County, and your options, with no obligation.

Can you handle a case if I was arrested outside McLennan County?

Yes. From our Waco office we represent clients across North and Central Texas and coordinate with our other locations. If you were arrested in a neighboring county, we can still take your case and route it to the attorney and courthouse that fit.

What kinds of cases does the Waco office handle?

DWI and DUI, drug charges, assault and family-violence allegations, theft, and a range of state and federal criminal matters. If you are unsure whether we handle your specific charge, call and ask, and we will tell you honestly.
