Everyone entering the Russell A. Steindam Courts Building passes through a security checkpoint, and bags are subject to search. Lines are longest during the morning docket, so arrive early enough to clear security before your setting. Courtroom suite numbers indicate the floor: suites beginning with 1 are first floor, 2 second, 3 third. Prohibited items include weapons and ammunition, sharp objects and tools such as scissors, screwdrivers, multi-tools, and hammers, and flammables or chemical irritants such as lighters, pepper spray, aerosols, and vapes. Also barred are glass or metal containers, water bottles and other liquids, and surveillance devices such as cameras, recording devices, smart glasses, and laser pointers. Phones are generally allowed but may not be used to photograph or record inside the courtrooms.
